Hiking 102: Beginner Hike Planning and Navigation Using OC Park Maps

Come join us on an activity designed to provide basic skills to allow you to plan and execute your own hikes. We will be using Orange County Park maps which are available for the Irvine Ranch Open Space and open access parks such as Whiting Ranch, Laguna Coast and Aliso Wood Canyon Wilderness Parks among others. We will go over basic map reading, planning your hike, following the hike plan, knowing when you are on route, and knowing when you are off route. This is an excellent follow-up to the Hiking 101 activity though Hiking 101 is not required to attend.
